Royal Southern Brotherhood - Mike Zito Departs - Bart Walker Arrives

Amy Brat

A heartfelt farewell from the Royal Southern Brotherhood to Mike Zito and a warm welcome to our new band member Bart Walker…

It's bittersweet when your brother leaves home. It's a time of sorrow and loneliness as well as a time of freedom for you and for him. The love is strong and it doesn't die because he is always yours and Mike Zito will always be our brother. The memories and shared time last forever. We announce to you first from New Orleans, LA, with joy-filled regret, that Mike Zito is rolling onward with his band Mike Zito & The Wheel. Mike will release a new live record and DVD on Ruf Records, SONGS FROM THE ROAD, which is due on Sept 9th. You'll get to see him live, in action, as we did playing side by side with him every night. As the band's royal journey continues, we welcome guitarist/singer and Ruf Records mate Bart Walker to the band. Bart has led his own Nashville based group, which featured Reese Wynans of the Stevie Ray Vaughan band, as well as guitarist for lead singer Mike Farris of the Screamin' Cheetah Wheelies. It is an exciting time for both Mike and Bart musically as one departs and one enters the wild world of the Royal Southern Brotherhood. Cyril, Devon, Charlie, and Yonrico wish Mike Zito and his band best wishes. Catch Mike Zito LIVE in October and for more RSB dates please visit www.royalsouthernbrotherhood.com

Friday Blues Fix takes a final look at some of the summer's hottest releases... Alastair Greene Band - Trouble At Your Door "

Amy Brat

And I totally agree!!  Friday Blues Fix takes a final look at some of the summer's hottest releases... Alastair Greene Band- Trouble At Your Door ...this powerhouse trio working through a dozen tracks, eleven originals and a dynamite cover of the late Michael Burks' "Strange Feeling." Greene is an excellent guitarist and is equally at home with electric, acoustic, and National Steel guitar. He's also a strong vocalist and songwriter as well. This is one of the better blues-rock discs I've heard this year."  READ IT ALL HERE

BratGirlmedia Welcomes Alastair Greene

Amy Brat

So here I am getting a lesson in “cool" from Alastair Greene (Alan Parsons Band and Alastair Greene Band), wearing his shades... Did I pass??? And why does he still look cool in MY glasses! You’ll be seeing a lot more of Alastair from me in the coming months, as the Alastair Greene Band has a very cool new rockin’ Blues CD “TROUBLE AT YOUR DOOR” coming out on Eclecto Groove Records (Delta Groove Productions) on June 17th!! (Links below) The first 2 reviews JUST came out and they’re GREAT!

I first met Alastair last year in Memphis at the International Blues Challenge (IBC), and again on my way home from the Blues Music Awards a few weeks ago when he was here in Chicago with the Alan Parsons Live Project. I missed the AP concert but I got to meet the band and make some new friends! Alastair has been touring with Alan Parsons for several years as lead guitar and vocals. Not a bad gig!! A lot of you already know Alastair because he’s a big blues geek like the rest of us. We have MANY friends in common! If you don’t know him yet, GO MAKE FRIENDS! Here’s his Music Page on Facebook…. Alastair Greene and website links… ECLECTO GROOVE  -  AMAZON  -  iTUNES  -  www.alastairgreene.com

ROCK OUT FOR TROUT - A Walter Trout Benefit

Amy Brat

Royal Southern Brotherhood and Friends- Jimmy Hall, Jack Pearson, Lee Roy Parnell, Bart Walker, and more Present: ROCK OUT FOR TROUT, A Walter Trout Benefit

On Tuesday April 8th we invite guitar and music fans to the EXIT/IN in Nashville, TN where Royal Southern Brotherhood will be joined on stage by some of their musical friends for a very special benefit show for the one and only, Walter Trout.

Walter Trout is one of our dearest guitar HEROES and with the recent devastating news of his rapidly progressing liver disease, we want to pull together some of our friends to help raise money and awareness. Although Walter and his family have reached their medical fundraising goal, set up by a friend to help get Walter a new liver transplant, we know there will be other medical and personal expenses they will incur. Let's all show our love and support for one of the greatest guitar players of all time.

Royal Southern Brotherhood Gave Blue Star Connection a Helping Hand

Amy Brat

MIKE ZITO, DEVON ALLMAN, CHARLIE WOOTON, AND YONRICO SCOTT GO BACK TO SCHOOL FOR A DAY...

Today in Colorado Royal Southern Brotherhood spent the day in school building cigar box guitars with students! These kids were awesome! And these beautiful guitars they created will be sold at an event to benefit the Blue Star Connection! Thanks kids! Thank you John Catt. This was so cool. (Blue Star donates instruments to medically fragile kids and donates musical gear to Children’s Hospital Music Therapy Departments all over the U.S!) We were very proud to be part of this project today!
